For firefighters, the call box has always represented something more than a piece of equipment. It represents the moment the alarm sounds, the responsibility to respond, and a tradition passed from one generation of firefighters to the next.
That history is the inspiration behind El Bombero — The Firefighter Call Box, a one-of-a-kind collector’s cigar box created by Daniel Nina, a professional firefighter with the Elizabeth Fire Department since 2012 and founder of El Bombero USA.
After years of development, Nina set out to create something that would unite two of his greatest passions: the fire service and the culture of fine cigars.
The result is a collector’s piece designed to represent four principles at the heart of the fire service:

MORE THAN A CIGAR BOX
El Bombero was designed to immediately evoke the iconic appearance of a traditional firefighter call box. Its bold fire-service-inspired presentation transforms the cigar box into something intended not only to hold premium cigars, but also to be proudly displayed in a home, firehouse, cigar lounge, office, or collection.
Inside the Firefighter Call Box are 12 premium El Bombero cigars, consisting of eight 5×56 cigars and four 7×56 cigars.
The El Bombero cigar blend was created through a collaboration involving Daniel Nina, Sticks Cigars, and Kevin Schweitzer of Rockefeller Cigars, bringing the traditions of premium cigar craftsmanship together with the identity and brotherhood of the fire service.
343 — NEVER FORGET
At the heart of El Bombero is remembrance.
The number 343 is prominently represented as a tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
For Nina, that number carries a responsibility that extends far beyond the product itself. It is a reminder of courage, sacrifice, brotherhood, and the promise that those who gave their lives will never be forgotten.

CREATED BY A FIREFIGHTER
El Bombero translates to “The Firefighter” in Spanish, making the name a direct reflection of the project’s identity.
This is not simply a product designed around a firefighter theme. It was created from within the fire service by someone who understands what it means to answer the alarm, work alongside fellow firefighters, and carry the traditions of the profession.
Nina spent years developing the concept with the goal of creating a cigar experience that firefighters, first responders, military members, cigar enthusiasts, collectors, and supporters of the fire service could proudly own.
GIVING BACK
The mission behind El Bombero also extends beyond cigars.
A portion of proceeds from El Bombero will support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, helping further its mission of supporting America’s first responders, military heroes, and their families.
It is another way the project connects the enjoyment and tradition of premium cigars with a larger purpose of service and remembrance.
